Preschool Series – Session 2 Part 1: Play is… with Ana Ardelean

This session will explore what play is and how it contributes to children’s overall development and learning (with links to the previous session). Key play theories and concepts will inform this session, which will aim to develop not only staff’s knowledge of play, but also their play vocabulary. Differences between play and play-based learning will be outlined, along with references to the role of adults in children’s play. Practical ideas of stimulating play will be put forward, either as part of the session, or as a separate resource.
