Grade 5: Walking Gently

This Learning and Evaluation Situation (LES) invites Grade 5 students to explore the theme of ecological transition through the lens of Indigenous stewardship. The LES fosters critical thinking, respect for diverse worldviews, and a sense of collective responsibility for the future.

Pedagogical intention:

Students investigate how four Nations in Québec - Eeyou/Eenou, Anishnabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Inuit - care for the land, and reflect on the values and knowledge that guide their actions. Through guided dialogue, research, and personal reflection, students consider what it means to act responsibly for the environment and identify concrete steps they can take.
