Grade 2: New Beginnings: Exploring Birth and New Life

This Learning and Evaluation Situation (LES) helps Grade 2 students understand how babies come to be as well as the many ways they join families. It invites all students to take part—through reflection, discussion, and learning from others.

Pedagogical intention:

The purpose of this LES is to help students understand the three main stages of birth (conception, pregnancy and delivery), as well as the cultural and emotional importance of welcoming a new child.
