Diverse Perspectives on the Canadian Pacific Railway

In this LES, students will explore diverse perspective on railway construction around 1905. This folder includes a Teacher Guide, Student Workbook, formative and summative evaluation and accompanying documents.

Please note that the answer key is contained in a separate Google Folder. Teachers may need to request access to this document if they are not members of the LEARN Social Science list. Here is a link to the answer key.

Students will:

  1. Select a region of Canada: Quebec, the Canadian Prairies, or the West Coast.
  2. Research information about the railways construction in the region selected.
  3. Establish a stance on the railways construction.
  4. Create an infographic or slideshow to share their research and stance.
