Parks Canada presents The Quarantine at Grosse Île: 105 years of science

This online activity, The Quarantine at Grosse Île: 105 years of science, is being hosted by LEARN in collaboration with Parks Canada. The intended audience for this session is Cycle 3 Elementary (Grades 5-6) students.
For 105 years, the Grosse Île quarantine station fought the spread of contagious diseases introduced in Canada by immigrants traveling by boat to the port of Quebec. Many advances accompanied the quarantine station’s evolution, and science played a central role. Students are invited to explore 105 years of science at Grosse Île to understand all these changes.
