Parks Canada presents: Victorian Christmas

This online activity, Victorian Christmas, is being hosted by LEARN in collaboration with Parks Canada. The intended audience for this session is Cycle 3 Elementary (Grades 5 & 6) students.
The activity will immerse students in 19th century bourgeois holiday customs and traditions!
Mr. Cartier’s home in Montreal hosted numerous receptions and Christmas celebrations. It was during the Victorian period (1837-1901) that the festivities changed and shaped our current traditions.
On the program: the Victorian era, culinary traditions, Christmas characters, games and gifts…

This interclass activity lasts 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute question period.
