Parks Canada presents Lévis Forts: Quebec City’s Unsung Guardians

This online activity, Lévis Forts: Quebec City’s Unsung Guardians, is being hosted by LEARN in collaboration with Parks Canada. The intended audience for this session is Cycle 3 Elementary (Grades 5 & 6) students.
During this interclass activity, students set out to discover the Lévis Forts—impressive but often little-known military structures. They explore the reasons behind the construction of these forts, which were designed to defend Quebec City, then Canada’s national capital. They also learn how the arrival of the Grand Trunk Railway reinforced Lévis’ strategic importance and how innovative construction techniques were used at the time. A captivating immersion in local and national history!

This interclass activity lasts 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute question period.

The event is finished.
