Parks Canada presents Building a Nation: Canada Past and Present

This online activity, Building a Nation: Canada Past and Present, is being hosted by LEARN in collaboration with Parks Canada. The intended audience for this session is Cycle 3 Elementary (Grades 5-6) students.

This interclass activity offers participating classes a fun overview of the Confederation of 1867 and the Canadian political system through the eyes of Sir George-Étienne Cartier, a key political figure of the 19th century.

This one-off activity uses a quiz and colourful visuals to help classes put these historical concepts into practice. Classes will realise that creating a country is no mean feat, and that the decisions taken over 150 years ago still influence their daily lives.

The event is finished.
