Parks Canada presents Memory of the Acadians People in Restigouche

This network activity, Memory of the Acadians People in Restigouche, is being hosted by LEARN in collaboration with Parks Canada. The intended audience for this session is Cycle 3 (Grades 5-6) Elementary students.
This interclass activity takes you to the heart of the final naval battle between France and Great Britain.
Who are the Acadians of the Restigouche region of Gaspésie? Where do they come from? What hardships did these brave people have to overcome? And, above all, what were they doing during the last naval confrontation between France and Great Britain in July 1760?
The National Historic Site’s experts will answer these questions and more as they describe the Battle of the Restigouche. During this virtual encounter, participating classes will discover resilient people who played a key role in an event that sealed the fate of New France forever!

The event is finished.
